Asset Champions are special people who we honor each year. They build assets each and every day, in everyone around them. They look for opportunities to help our youth grow into healthy, caring and responsible adults. Most importantly, they point out to others when they?re building assets.

Presenting the 2005 Asset Champions for the Cherry Creek School District!
Kim Murray -Grandview High School Senior and Co-Director of year?s Youth/Adult Summit. Kim went beyond the call of duty many times during the seven months leading up to the Summit. She always followed through - she never had to be reminded - she attended all meetings. As Co-Chair this year, she supported Food and Entertainment by securing $400 worth of snacks for the event, she helped Fundraising raise money by making a tough presentation to a City Council. On the day of the event, she handled herself professionally, and spoke in front of the largest crowd we ever had. Margie Adams, Adult Mentor says, "In all, she helped me build assets in myself, the same way she helped build assets in all of the teenagers and adults around her."

Diana Ewert - Eastridge Community Elementary School Bus Driver. The Community Asset Project (CAP) board, in conjunction ith Eastridge Community Elementary School, honored Diana Ewert, bus driver, as an Asset Champion 2005. At Eastridge's Very Important Citizen assembly. Ms. Ewert received the Asset Champion award for her outstanding accomplishments on her bus. Dr. Robert Villarreal, Principal of Eastridge, nominated Ms. Ewert and stated, "She has magically transformed the behavior and attitude of the children riding her bus. Through positive reinforcement, a nurturing and loving attitude, goal setting and setting a standard of excellence while riding the bus, has instilled pride, respect and self-control in the lives of our children. Diana richly deserves to be an Asset Champion."
Mary Pratt - Music Teacher, and Asset Director at Creekside Elementary. Diane Bernero, Creekside Elementary Principal says it best, "Mary's influence with Asset building has mobilized the community and most everyone is connect with assets and the school and their responsibility in making sure that kids grow to be confident, motivated, and healthy. We need a 'Mary' at every school in the district!" Mary Pratt was presented the award at this year's annual PIN brunch. Her tears of surprise and excitement warmed everyone's heart.
